Wife and I have just returned from Italy and have around 8,000 photos to process. I spent a bit of time in the cobble stoned alleys in old Rome, drank some good coffee, ate some good pizza, knocked off some good pistachio gelate and captured some random street images.

I planted myself on a laneway corner late one afternoon just near our Hotel and waited for interesting subjects. The red scooters are not so easy to find and red vespars even more difficult.

Lovely capture and sounds like you had a great time. My only suggestion is to either go full colour or monochrome with this rather than the selective colour.

I like this shot, however you did not go the
full way with the colours. Perhaps you should
have the complete person and bike in colour,
unless for some particular reason you just want
to attract the attention to those two red items
only.

I quite like the image on the whole, it conveys the feeling of a typical street scene in Rome (or Europe for that matter) with just enough motion blur to convey the bustle of the street, but I am not a fan of the selective colour either.

I am not sure about the single colour, although I think the photo would be missing something it if it didn't have it, and there would be too much going on if it were all in colour...

... well, you can always change the colour, eg in LAB.

I think the selective colour is a good idea but it doesn't work so well because it is too central in the image.
