Skid n Cruze

Had shots to get at the annual local event organised by local motoring enthusiasts, made difficult by changing weather throughout the day. From bright and sunny to dark and wet, several times over. If you know what the bottom vehicle is, your the wrong side of 40 + or a car enthusiast.

That would be an EH Holden Special.

I am definitely on the other side (I refuse to say wrong!) side of 40, and maybe a couple of other decades after that!

To buy a second-hand one of these was a teenage ambition, but I had no money. I ended up with a '55 Customline V8 that a workmate sold me for $60.

I didn't even have a licence!

(I have one now though) :D

The EJ and EH shared the same front end, didn't they? Had a neighbor who restored EHs. He had a two-toned green one (light green body and white vinyl roof). Stunning. They also had an engine bay into which a 308 engine (5 litre for you youngsters) could slot straight in.

I still think the EH had some of the nicest lines of cars made in the 1960s and preferable to the XL/XM/XP Falcon of the same era.

"Car Enthusiast" and "Holden" should never be mentioned in the same sentence

Oops. I just did.

As soon as I spotted the last image I knew it was an eh Holden, can't miss the lines of that beauty! And I must be an enthusiast as I am well under the 40 + u mentioned. :biglaugh:
My father used to own one too, a light green one too, my mother made him sell it, and I've wanted one ever since! Nothing as beautiful to me then an originally restored EH special. Cars today just aren't as classy IMO.

In regards to your photos, I like them. I like that your shots aren't the standard car shots, but rather shots where you've captured the beauty of each vehicle that makes it a popular vehicle in the first place. Eg: Light and front qtr panel of the EH and the beautiful stingray badge etc.

Thanks for sharing these images, I enjoyed all of them.

I see there's some petrol heads ( appreciators of finer, older vehicles) from way back when. The entrants in the car show were cramped very close in a car park, making normal/wide angle shots without clutter difficult, so in many cases it was a matter of needing to come up with something different.
