This is another Cockatoo Island motif I tried my hand on before, with muted success.

Building 10 isn't much of a building but rather a patchwork of colours, shapes and textures. It's rather big so attempting to take it all in isn't going to do it justice. This time around I took a different angle and tried to find a representative partial view.

I like the angle and composition but do not think the ligt has done you any favours. My eye is drawn to the brick work, the peeling paint on the left, the pipe above and the bare weather timber but the light seems to have killed the texture of everything. Some selective pp might bring the texture back.
It is a great building which seems to have so many different elements.

This image has a wonderful mixture of textures and in some ways really reflects Cockatoo Island in a perfect manner, being built layer upon layer.... However the brickwork looks very flat (really not your fault) and this contrasts highly with the 3D nature of the peeling paint, causing me to stop and try to figure it out.

Do you have any other angles? Shots in different light?

Yes, the building seems patched together like a quilt, it looks different from every angle. I've got a few more shots that I need to look through, maybe I find another one worthy of posting. Some day I'll do an overnighter on Cockatoo Island so I can take advantage of the early morning and late afternoon light, rather than just the mid-day sun you get with day trips. I'm also curious what the island looks like on a rainy day...
