A couple from Positano

This one is the main Positano beach which as you can see is quite popular.

Hi Bob - I like the receding umbrellas and the way all those building hug the cliffs is very interesting. Would make a cool sunset or sunrise location (whichever has the sun off to the left).

In the second did you crank the saturation or something - it's just that the excessive blue (in the water reflections and haze over the mountains) looks a little wrong. The composition is nice with the interesting boat up front but it's a pity you didn't get more favourable conditions (sky, clouds, etc). A pano crop and then a touch more contrast may remove the glare of the blank white space at the top (but may destroy the environmental/location aspect of the image).

These Italian coastal villages are just marvelous, aren't they? One of my favourite parts of the world - I want to retire to Monterosso Al Mare in Le Cinque Terre.

And now you've made me want to and visit there, again, because of the way that you've captured the essence of these towns. This is not a bad thing at all.

The sun rises and sets pretty much in parallell with the waters edge and were pretty much unspectacular during our time at this location.

No upping of the saturation in #2. The water is a different looking colour here as the beach/ sea bottom is pretty much grey/black rocks and pebbles. The sun was pretty much behind the cliffs on the left of picture when this was taken.

Yes - the days were hazy and I personally don't mind the 3D effect that results in this image even though it's technically flawed. I could work on those cliffs but I think it might loose something rather than add as you suggest.

This was my favourite location. It was featured in the chick flick "Under the Tuscan Sun" when she goes to the coast. We were able to spot our hotel when watching the dvd on our return. A number of tourists we spoke to commented favorably regarding Cinque Terre but unfortunately we didn't make it there.
