The Colasseum

Some of the hazzards we had on our recent trip were the high contrast during the day (temps were unseasonally 30 -34 each day), hazy conditions, the ever present tourists in multitudes standing in the way, plus being on a time schedule with only one off opportunities in many cases.

I found the colasseum particularly difficult and these are about the best I could come up with on the day.

Comments welcome:

The tourists are starting to cue.

You know what, it's hard to make an original image of such a popular and well known site, and I speak from experience, but that last image is just great! I love the fact that you only get a glimpse of the Colosseum, yet enough to know what we are looking at. The hoard of people also adds to the reality of this site, there is almost never anyone not around! Well done and kudos for going the extra mile to get the shot! :)

Last one is a cracker! balance is great - the crowds are always there so, why bother trying to photograph withough them?

The selective colour works well here too

I really like the wagon wheel shot, very good concept and execution! I don't think it even needs the selective colour to work.

Cheers
