A couple of Fungi found today while out walking the dog. (I did not have my camera with me at the time so had to go back later!).

There were quite a few of these around, approx 50-70mm diameter.

Not so many of these, stood approx 150mm tall.

I believe the first is Aseroe rubra - Starfish fungus, a type of stinkhorn.

I'm not sure about the second, but my guess is Phallus rubicundus (another stinkhorn).

Getting this close, aren't you afraid to get fungus on your lens?

Were these taken in natural light? The lighting looks very soft and even.

Cheers
Steffen.

 fungus on the lens is OK, it's inside it that you need to worry!

Lighting for both of these was the R1C1 (x2 SR200 flash units), lens used was the 60mm micro.

Keep your dog away from them. However, nice
photos.
