Ant's view

Currently I am in Noo Zooland, land of the long white rugby ball. I haven't had much opportunity to photographize recently, but I did take a stroll through the magnificent gardens in New Plymouth. My trusty E-PL1 came into use with this photo, which took about 30 or 40 attempts to nail, from ground level. A swivel screen sure would be handy in these situations!

I like the back lighting of the hairy flower stems Ozy, really brings them out.

This is an exquisite and delicate flower image. It reminds me a bit of Maria Sibylla Merian's drawings.

I reckon you can improve the composition by cropping a bit off the left, top and right to get rid of some distractions and white sky.

Cheers
Steffen.

Nice perspective. Yes, it might benefit
with a square crop cropping out some
of the white sky and part of the left by
creating a perpendicular visual line from
the base that climbs from left to right.

That was a mouthful!

I'm only using an iPad at present, so my photo tweaking capabilities are a little limited, although I must say Photoforge2 is a tremendous programme for 99c.

Here's another crop. I'll try a square crop later.

should have employed a ant to help ;)

This image just crys out to have a another bracket thrown in to give the sky some realism, the pure white weakens it alot in my view.

How good is the CA on this image too!

I think the crop is much better. Just get rid of the petals just creeping in on the right hand edge. And the stalk that goes nowhere towards the left.

Unlike Gerry, I love the white sky. I think you have handled it well.

Love the white sky! Nicely executed. As suggested, I'd try and tweak the compo to make it all stronger.

Thank you all for the comments. I will tweak the image properly next week when I return home from the land of Honihiki, where rugby is not a matter of life and death; it's far more important than that!

If Australia won, then it would be the same here.

Suren, I've been in Noo Zooland for the last two weeks. You can only imagine what I've had to put up with, and I don't even follow the rah rahs. I'm a RL man. Finally it was too much for me. I went out and bought an All Blacks T- shirt. That seems to stop conversation quick smart.
