Another from croatia. This man would push his boat up and down the shore collecting some kind of muscle maybe shellfish off the bottom with this long pole.

Hi Dave - I like the overall feel of the image and the silhouette is great. I do think that super bright highlight on the left is a bit too much and over offsets the dark silhouette on the right - I wonder if a crop to just the right of that would be better?

I would definitely agree with cropping off that highlight

Maybe clone the highlight and keep the pano crop.

Hey Div, good to hear from ya again, sounds like the move went well!

I reckon the bright spot is ok and does not distract too much from the frame, for me it gives more of a sense of reality to the frame, I am so used to manufactured HDR images that this kinda realism is something that I find refreshing and appealing.

Possibly a more pano crop to remove that rock would be good, as it is you have two competing elements to the man and the boat, thats 1 too many imo. This also minimises that bright spot without removing it entirely.

A lovely image. I'm a big clone fan and would remove both the rock AND the highlight, but that's just me. I note you cropped all but a few rays of sun at the top. I'd have liked a few more, but suspect there may have been just a big white blob there which dictated this crop. All minor quibbles since, as I say, this is a fine capture.

I do find that the foreground highlight and the rocks are competing for attention and if your PS skills are up to scratch a clone job may be the way to go. A crop to remove the rocks aint gonna work in my opinion as you will lose part of the boatmans reflection. The highlight in the far distance however adds to the overall image.

Have you tried to emphasize the sun rays a little more ?

Sorry guys for my late reply.

Life just runs away sometimes and I didn't get a chance to get back to this photo. I did get a chance to get out and get some photos recently though. I'll post them in another post.

I had a go at cloning....I think my P.S skills aren't very good. Does anyone know of a good tutorial for some techniques?

Maybe I was a bit hasty in choosing my crop for this photo. Your opinions would be appreciated this is the original framing

The reason i cropped close was because i wanted more attention on the boat man and wanted to get in closer, But i like the pano crop because of the negative space it provides. But you are right the highlight is a bit distracting. Choices choices =)
