Surprising the variety of bugs around in ones back yard if only you take the time to look.

Here is one from this morning. I found several of these crawling all over our Zucchini plants in the veggie garden. This afternoon they are all gone (the bugs, not the plants).

Can anyone provide an ID? I thought it was a caterpillar but it only has 6 legs to the front of the body. In this image towards the back and under the bug those are two small 'twigs' or grass. I would guess, judging from the colour and those spiky protrusions, it would be poisionous? Overall length would be around 10mm with a body width of approx 5mm.

Looks very much like a leaf eating lady beetle larvae. Also called a 24 spot lady beetle. nice pic

Thanks Colin - we can always rely on you for an ID problem is, after doing some research it appears that this is the only lady beetle that is not beneficial to your garden

Yeah unfortunately they like to eat leaves og most things related to pumpkins and potatoes.

There's a bug out there counting the spots on his back 23..24..25..26..27 shit where is the last one? She'll never go out with me looking like this!
