My daughter Megan and her boyfriend Duncan asked me to bring the camera to the beach a couple of weekends ago.
I layed face down on the beach, set the camera to continuos high, prefocused the 70-200 and asked Duncan to flick the ball straight along the beach at me with a mind to capturing Charlie the dog in full flight at a reasonably close distance and with a limited DOF for effect.
The result was that his toss was quicker and more accurate than I was expecting and i got a faceful/cameraful/lensful of sand and doggy.
Oh well! that's the price we pay.
