I reckon crop the 1st a little bit more to add more mystery (ie slightly reduce the context....)

Re: Sun in the eyesI'm going on the contrary of what everyone else has said. The first image is quite dark and could be helped by introducing a bit more fill on the left hand side. This will help make the light fall off not as harsh which means she doesn't just disappear into the background. The second image just needs a bit more fill and warmth to create a more romantic ambience.
