...and it was worth it....
These were taken opportunistically whilst I was having a long overdue dinner date with Katrina.

Nice!
I reckon crop the 1st a little bit more to add more mystery (ie slightly reduce the context....)

cracking images Cameron, I really like the wineglasses, you could set this shot up and not do better than what you have presented!
Suren has made a good point imo about the first and potentially adding some mystery, that would work well too.

Both are working well as is. My only comment would be that perhaps the flare in the first is a little too much!

I'm going on the contrary of what everyone else has said. The first image is quite dark and could be helped by introducing a bit more fill on the left hand side. This will help make the light fall off not as harsh which means she doesn't just disappear into the background. The second image just needs a bit more fill and warmth to create a more romantic ambience.
