Putting up a small selection from my recent hike in the Czech countryside. The smaller web dimensions of the canyon images really don't do it justice. It's going to be another one where I'll be printing it large in the future.

Please tell us more about the scene photographed in the second and third images here.

In both of these images, I think I'd like to see the contrast bumped a little; I don't think the conversion is quite "there" yet.

Thanks Gary. The second and third images are of a limestone quarry. It's been a challenge of late with my b&w conversions as what I see before saving it as a JPG is a different and has more contrast. Back to reworking it some more.

That last image is sublime in my opinion, looks like it was taken in the 70's. well done.

The BW ones do nothing for me and come across very flat (depth wise) - its very interesting to see a quarry like that which has been dis-used for some years and hence the trees etc at the bottom..

#4 is nicely composed but the light is relatively flat. Minor improvement could be slightly higher perspective (easier said than done I guess) so that the shrubs are not obscuring the house. Beautiful scene though. Perhaps a nice place to retire. [as long as the temperature is in the 20s]

Is that purple cast natural?

The BW conversions IMHO have too many confusing textures.(looks like a haphazard HDR BW conversion) I reckon color may help to distinguish between trees, shrubs, stones etc. It looks soft but if you click through, it's much better.

I love the colours in the first two - I am not an expert on colour negative film, but it has the look of Fujicolor Pro 160. Very nice.

The B&W have less appeal for reasons already given.
