rusty still life

picked up a few pieces of junk at the local flea market for about 1$ a piece on the weekend.
had a few problems with blown highlights near the mask so i did some dodging with my hand.
let me know what ya think?
lighting was one plain tungscent light.

Nice - I love rust as a subject...
What's with the diagonal lines??? Was that a venetian blind or something??? Probably better without???
Also - what were the settings for the 2 shots??? The colouring is very different...

venetian blinds, nah.
i use a bbq grill plate as my gobo filter for the lights. the settings are quite simliar in both pics however there was a reduction in lighting in the second

I like the 2nd image, maybe trying increasing the contrast and sharpen more?

The second image colouring looks more inline with the concept and works very well

gobos are filters for lights which have shapes cut out of them to give interesting lighting.
I stayed at Lave Cove when i was up in sydney last year, it has one of the worst cars parks i ever came across it was the coles ones.

I like the subject... But I dont know about the lighting...
Too much of the image is dark IMHO
