The plan for the day was to visit the waterfalls by day√, have a nice dinner√ then go out to a nearby prominence and take photos of the stars in the night.

Well the weather turned ominous. Then all the nearby lights vanished. The city dwellers among us were beginning to get really scared.
Suddenly a glowing orb appeared before us


Then a strange figure materialised out of the glow


Then another orb began to appear. By this time an eerie light began to coat the rocks around us. This Orb was a different colour. We wondered why:


Then we found out. And regretted the discovery:


Luckily for us, the mysterious visitors, having concluded their business, began to dematerialise


We caught one final glimpse of the mothership, then they were gone

Have you tried a crop just below the 'lava' to exclude the lower spots of red?

man it was dark out there! I like the use of teh umbrella, no thats a concept worthy of further development...

I like #1 as well - the ones where the ground is lit aren't as interesting I don't think
