Nan Tien Temple - Wollongong...

On our way back from staying at the grandparents home on the south coast the girls and I spent a few hours visiting the Nan Tien Buddhist Temple in Wollongong.

It was an interesting place to visit and in many ways very reminiscent to the Buddhist temple we visited when we were in Hong Kong (including the vegetarian lunch we ate and excepting that this was a modern construction :))

The first few are just snapshots but I personally liked the last three so am happy to have any critique :)

If you follow the path up the hill above the temple grounds you'll find this bell which the girls enjoyed ringing...

inside one of the shrines - they are all very very decorated

Great images as always. I really like #1, was it great timing or some skillful post processing to maximise the light?

Ummm - I can claim neither I'm afraid :( - luck :)
When I was shooting this I was expecting it to be bad (it was almost midday) and actually took the original as a three shot bracket for potential HDR processing. However what you see here is just the 0EV image almost as shot - all I chose was Landscape Camera Calibration (in Lightroom) which gave it a bit more contrast and saturation and I added a bit of Clarity and Vibrance for a touch more. I think the fact that it was quite overcast (see #2) and near midday so the light was coming down from directly above down the channel of trees helped.
