Well it ain't here in SEQ, but it is back home in the UK, my parents reported 6" (150mm) snowfall overnight on Saturday.

This image of some gum trees has been PP'd in LR3 using a infrared preset and then some tweeking. Just trying out some arty farty stuff

Like it and suggest a severe crop to just below the base of the 'highest' tree as it appears in the image.

I like it...will be interesting to play with some crops

I quite like it too. I would look fabulous in a large
print on a wall.

Its a nice concept, how about dialling back teh contrast a bit and reducing the sharpness - i almost cut myself when I opened the thread

agreed - those leaves (and trunks) are scary

very nice way to simplify what is essentially a very busy scene.

Mmmm, I reduced the clarity on this image to -47 and there has been no sharpening applied

Thanks all for your comments, I did try a couple of other crops including a 16:9

Here is another crop at a cinematic aspect ratio of 2.39:1

This crop works well. It look like a scene out of an Andrzej Wajda movie
