Looks good to me kerry only running down hill. Maybe coulf rotate it a bit and re crop it so it looks straight. But nice shot and the colours are different.

Firstly, I like this shot but I would like to offer some critique.

With regard to John’s comment on straightening, and I am a fanatic re this, I don’t believe you need to straighten this pic.

Obviously shot from an angle, and in any straightening exercise one must consider not only horizontals, but verticals as well. The trees represent the verticals and these are OK.

The Detroit Edison Co. and 203 look blown, whereas the light has a star. Possibly an aperture of f/11 and around 8 secs may have given a sharper image in this region (speculation only).

All-in-all I like this shot - memorabilia plus those fantastic northern winter trees.

I don't recall how this image was processed, but it was shot on an angle. I generally straighten stuff like this. The problem may be that I don't have room to crop after straightening. Dunno. I'd have to look at the original.

heh, this was a goof. Those things are blown. Lighting was miserable, so I used a bright hand torch to do some light painting on the locomotive to even out the exposure. The blown parts aren't white paint, as I had surmised at the time of the shot. They are that reflective paint or material, which gobbled up my light painting and spit it back to me.

Kerry, I love this shot, partly because I like steam trains, but mostly because of the eerie colouring. It is almost a bit like a warped sort of infrared But it looks great!

Thanks for the kind words. The color comes from the type of lighting that was in this park, mercury vapor? Plus the WB that I used, which I don't recall at the moment....
