Further to my post in Matt's latest X10 review, here's a few images from yesterday's walk around the Colisseum, using the Fuji X10, in Auto (and obviously Panoramic) modes.

This was a hand-held 120 degrees panorama.

This was a hand-held panorama shot taken in a fairly dark church. There was a lot less light than the photo would indicate. They are SOOC and shot in jpg.

I love the colour renditions from the X10. Being able to shoot jpegs this good when you are travelling saves a whole heap of hassle.

I love the last image! Beautiful composition. It seems to have its own power. Here's something you might like to try with X10.When shooting in low light or indoors... In the menu set DR 400% and use the camera in EXR mode. For even better DR set the image size to Medium. Shoot in EXR mode. The camera is now in 6MP mode and uses pairs of pixels to extend the DR. It works very very well. The 6MP images give almost nothing away when compared to the 12 MP images.

To be honest, I haven't even had time to read the manual etcetera. I am mightily impressed with this little thing. I must say that, this being my third trip to Rome, I am not just blazing away like a Japanese tourist, but rather trying to be more selective in my shot decisions. I shot yesterday with the E-PL2, but today I will switch back to the X10.

Trevor, it never ceases to amaze me at how clever technology really is. I could muck around with settings for each shot, but so much time can be wasted. Just like my (now sold) X100, Fuji really nails colours and white balance, so I usually stick the thing in auto/P modes and let it do it's thing.
