In Rome with the Fuji X10 Pt 2

Nearly finished with the Italian leg of our journey, the X10 continues to impress. It is a travel camera as good as any. We have visited the usual tourist spots in Rome, plus today was spent in and around Naples, courtesy the fast train from Termini station, and a top speed of 308 kph. As for Italy, is it possible to have too much coffee? I suppose I will find out sooner or later. I have been a bit cheeky and posted more than the 4 image limit for this post, but hey, it is Italy after all!

All images are SOOC.

The roof of the Pantheon in late afternoon sun. Incidentally, the Pantheon is supposedly the world's largest unsupported concrete dome.

Somewhere in the Vatican museum, which has around 1100 rooms, and is second in size only to the Louvre (sp?).

St Peter's basilica, a fairly large joint by any measurement.

This fella is either homeless, or has had too much sightseeing for one day.

The shopping district next to the Vatican precinct is astonishing. I purchased one espresso macchiato only.

This fella was unusual for Naples as he didn't ask for anything, he just played his electric violin, very poorly I might add. I gave him some money simply because he wasn't shaking a tin in my face and begging.

Naples where we demolished some Margherita (sp?) pizza. Sublime.

Naples really has the best and worst of Italy.

Great time Rodney, just knackered. Off to Spain tomorrow for the weekend, then Northern Ireland.

Had great fun this morning. Approximately 5 minutes walk from our hotel in Monte Altissimo, is a spectacular Leica shop, obviously a serious dealer for the region. There is, in the front window, a gold Leica (R3?). I'm not too educated on Leica stuff; I was born in Penrith

I may saunter down later tonight and have another gander at the multitude of old Leicas on display.
