About time . . .It was raining hard as I looked out the window, so I:
And then later that day, just before bed I saw the warmth that a roof can bring into your life: Chris

Re: About time . . .Chris,
Both of these are wonderful shots, and they each tell me winter is on its way: the soft greens in the first, and warm lighting in the second both convey a similar message. Now, if you look closely at the wallet in the second, you might observe that it's $20 lighter. g.
Gary Stark Nikon, Canon, Bronica .... stuff The people who want English to be the official language of the United States are uncomfortable with their leaders being fluent in it - US Pres. Bartlet
Re: About time . . .Love the first - it has a John Blakemore-ish look to it, albeit in colour.

Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
Re: About time . . .
That wallet has not seen a $20 note in this millennia Thanks for the comments Gary Chris

Re: About time . . .Reading between the lines i assume these are about the change in weather? although looking back its hard to tell
The first does nothing for me, i even looked up that dude John Blakemore but it still does nothing for me but i do see some similarity in the style at least. What I see is a blurry window (could be water/rain, but would not be sure purely from teh image) and some blurry tree branches/leaves giving some sense of movement? nope that could just be the rain on teh window. I guess at the end of teh day a image has to connect and 'speak' to teh viewer, it does not for me - obviously some viewers, like my self, maybe artistically challenged and cannot see further into the image but others can and see a connection, ie Gary and Patrick. The second is much along the same lines, now if that glass had scotch in it then we could be talking gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: About time . . .Thanks for the reply Gerry.
In the first it was absolutely pissing down hence the blurred and indistinct image. In the second - drink Laphroaig from a vase - crystal my dear fella, crystal only Chris

Re: About time . . .Perhaps some similarities to this? I reckon there is.
Here is the original article. http://www.duckspool.com/duckspool/tutors/john_blakemore/john_blakemore.htm It seems that once you are established, you can take a picture and people will read into it more and try and create something out of nothing. I guess we discussed this already in the art thread. In essence, once you are at the top, you will define art.
Re: About time . . .
lol
ahh yes that quote picture is quite similar but nope, it does nothing for me either. gerry's photography journey
