Here is my take on the morning's play.

Image

After we emerged from the scrub we were presented with an amazing red band on the horizon which was quite striking.

The boys hard at work...dont forget to dial down your iso Gerry

Amazing colour on the cliff face and bridge after the sun got fired up

Bit of a wider view

#1 is the stand out for me. I like the composition, colours and the fall of light on the bridge and rocks.
The only think I can see out of place is the slight halo on the bridge just after the RHS blends with the sky.

#4 is absolute standout for me. The light is perfect and unfortunately during this moment I was facing the sea. That orange light that lasted for a few minutes was very nice indeed. I assume you used the polariser here? The compo on this is also very pleasing and the wave placement also adds to it.

#5 shows how the scene looks without dramatic early morning light.

I am not too crazy about the others. Except that a pano crop #1 would work as well. Nice wave action for the foreground.

#1 for me. Well done. #3 is spoiled by the two pelicans sitting on the rocks.

#1 for me Ray, closely followed by #4. I think I may have liked a smidge more sky on the left and the top of the rocky cliff on the top left looks a little dark for me (grad line?). Love those light smears of colour in the water in #4

I reckon you might be able to square crop the middle of #2 for a stronger image for me

#1 has some wonderful elements in it and I can smell the morning....what a great time to be up and about. However, the image lacks something in the foreground. It needs some kind of hook to catch the eye and currently it does not have this. Something like an old fashioned pushbike, or umbrella or dog or flower or child or....I don't know what....in the foreground to ground the image. Then, to my eye, it would have been masterful.

Ray, #1 I thought could do with some more adjustments...

Thanks Suren. Quite like it but the sky looks a bit "Hows your father"
Maybe mask off the sky area when lightening

I was going to say the same but also figured it was working on the low res jpeg rather than the original raw where it likely wouldn't breakdown like it has here.

#1 is the winner here, perfect wave movement and teh composition works well, its actually a bit of a hard location to get a really good composition of teh bridge and I found myself always wanting to be standing out in teh ocean.

nope, it looked better in real life. I am yet to see a image convey the colours we saw that morning, the colours here feel cooked, however I know they probably have not been..much.

:rotfl2: lucky i remembered there and not when I got back to the car!

I like the two panos too, they are nice classic shots...the last needs a bit more somethign to make it go wow, unfortunately you have not filled the frame with that fine example of the male race, hence its never gonna be good enough :rotfl2:
