I have posted on this topic before to no acclaim.

I am trying to undertake a relatively major project of capturing the 4 suburbs that encompass the 2065 postcode. My primary approach is B&W medium format, but took a few with the D200.

As I am able to go back and effectively replicate and improve on shots, I appreciate feedback.

pat, #2 is absolutely beautiful. not a huge fan of the others.

#3 is a great shot but the stairs seem to be leaning a bit left.

#1 - retro to the max, i wish it had more of a 80's feel to it, however given the context of teh surrounding items I do not think thats gonna happen...maybe a tighter crop?

#3 is the best in my book. I like the contrast of
colours and lines in it.
I also like the first one, but I have a problem with
it, as is. Part of the stand is cut offand so is the
left and right of the image so sort of taking the
same photo again and add more context, I would
instead crop off all the unecessary elements and
concentrate on the essential - the ball machines
themselves. You got enough colour and elements
to attract and keep the interest of the viewer.
Unfortunately, the other pictures might be good,
but I fail to appreciate them.

#2 would be improved by including a human figure...maybe blurred to show movement.

Chris, I have taken a number of shots of that part of the overpass as I love the simplicity of it. Most of my other shots are on film and I will hope to print some off soon.

Suren, interesting suggestion - quite a while ago, I saw some other people doing a shoot under that section with a lass in a bikini. I had to slow down for the set of lights

Regarding the stairs, again, I feel my best shots of this have been taken on film that I have yet to print off. I think I have overcooked this on in post.

I do like the lolly jar and will try alternative crops.

I would have pretended to have a car breakdown.....

Given the advice of a tighter crop, I have tightened the crop. I think it adds to the image whilst retaining the colourful environment in which it was found. C&C appreciated again.

I can't imagine that is a good thing

I suggest keeping initial crop and lightpainting at night to ensure the surrounds a 1.5 stops under; sort of a surreal look.

I like the 2nd and 4th one. The 4th one mainly because you timed it right. On its own without any cars, it wouldn't have been as strong as what you've capture.

I prefer this second posting of the cropped image,
for the reason you mentioned and also for the fact
you left out the Optus signs that took away from the
image. I think this version has more impact.
