Well, it only feels like yesterday when last years ANZAC day March was on, it was a chilly morning but at least a dry one, the first in 3 years.

I have gotten to the point where i have images of teh same old dudes over the three years, its very interesting to see the changes.

This year was much teh same, i did try a few different positions but ended up in the same places from the year before. It is good to see more women in the defence forces and hence more representation on ANZAC day, hence my few images in this thread are all women.

Gerry - love that first - wish the hat in front was ever so slightly to the right but nicely captured.

The first is a cracker and I wouldn't change it - the hat edging into the front of the other woman adds context. The hairlight works beautifully.

#1 is a cracker Gerry. De Ja Vu from last year with that little boy.

It's really beautiful light sometimes even with some natural fill with #2.

On second look, I reckon you could try a rectangle crop of the #1 for giggles as well.

the one and only lens I take with me :D . I had a think about this and considered asking you for a loan of your 70-200 to give me some flexibility, however i actually find I like having some contraints on photography, having a a whole swathe lens would be difficult in terms of selecting teh right one - i have problems even with the limited selection i have now.

got another with a girl in a similar position with the face fully visible, I am a bit ambivalent regarding which is better.

I don't think I topped the boy from last year, i did not see the whole parade unfortunately, so i missed alot.

What i have learnt is that even whilst the last two years had better light (overcast ad diffused) its all about positioning your self to get the right light and also the right position to see the people. For example if you are on the wrong side you get them all lookign away and with the slouched hats tilted on the wrong side.

croppage looks good on that one as well.

#1 reminded me of the office where the actors steal furtive glances at the camera while carrying on with their 'officing'. Perhaps also try and blur the generic looking fella to focus attention more on the lass.

Daim! This looks like a typical look that you have when you realize that you've got a parking fine given out at 4:44am near the parade on Anzac day.
