Well folks, the deed is done. The Canon gear is gone, but not forgotten. (Well, almost. I am still hanging onto the 24-105 just in case...)

I picked up a 45mm F1.8 last night and miracle of miracles, sourced an EM-5 today in Brisbane. I took a quick snap of Robyn last night with my old E-pl2, in terrible light. I think this lens is going to be a hoot to use.

Sounds like a story - what happened?

I would be very interested to hear your views of the EM-5 once you have had time to play

I am loyal to my local pro Canon dealer, and he has looked after me well over the years, but he hasn't been able to get any stock of the EM-5 for whatever reason. I was driving through Brisbane today and called Photocontinental to see if they had any stock, and they did. It is a silver body with 14-42 kits lens. I already have this lens so I will sell the new one. I also picked up the battery grip which makes for a sensational grip for the camera. Thus far I have charged the battery and taken a few snaps of a bedlamp!

There are many, many user options with this camera, but I am reasonably familiar with the PEN line of operating system, so it shouldn't be too hard to figure things out. I'm looking forward to some blazing fast AF.

Happy days ahead, I hope!
