I do like the last with the complimentary background and it's simplicity. I do feel it is let down a little by the out of focus object in the foreground.

Thanks Patrick, unfortunately when you are behind a barrier you cannot avoid the foreground object...I tried!

+1 - I was going to say exactly that - you could probably just get away with a bit of healing/cloning of the bit in the window pane

after that #1 would be my next pick

I prefer the last two. Specially the last one because
of its composition and as Reschsmooth puts it "simplicity".

Have you thought about a BW version? I think these would look good as BW

I didnt consider BW for these...I will have a play.

Cam, i think you have developed a style in your photography which works quite well and has your signature on it, these shots are simple proof of that. Each composition (to me) appears as you have considered it and teh elements and the timing and nailed it for each one.

Gerry, your words are too kind! I am sure there are plenty of places where I can improve on these images....do you have any suggestions for crops etc?

#4 is a nice one!! Clone out those ghouls though...

yes, but it'll cost ya ... ok i think i owe you enough favours but remember these are just my views

the first three I would consider cropping to a pano orientation - all teh good stuff in these images is happening around the middle, the lead in lines are nice and would not be overly affected by cropping pano style, i think tjis may positively work to re-enforce the main subjects, the people.

#4 for sure, and yes, B/W may be a nice possibility.

The second one would look better with a 4:5 crop, so that the posters on the RHS aren't there. The tracks will provide a leading line from the corner to the person. A b&w conversion would be better and increase the detail on the lhs as I can see more subjects there that add to the image.

Some interesting crops come to mind, thanks Gerry....I knew you had something to suggest!

Thanks Piro...I was thinking the same now that I have had a bit of time away from the image...Play time later when I get onto my desktop that has the image files.

What is it about window light. If only I could get it to come out of my flashgun!

You'd need a fairly big diffuser like a bed sheet. Sometimes this is referred to as 'pulling a Mcnally over your window'.
