What a great concept! Very creative! I think I would have prefered it if you had got a little closer....but that's the only suggestion I can make. In this kind of of photography faces and emotions are pretty critical and should be the focal point of your photography. Catch the mood and you have done the job. That's why I suggest a tad closer.

Very original. I agree with the above. I would crop
most the black on the left leaving enough and get
them closer.

Hi and first of all great concept and execution. I am actually liking this image more and more the longer I look at, I would have liked it a little bit closer, I just find there is to much black to the left and a little too much on the top as well, mostly though I want to see their faces a little more detailed so the image left me wanting to see the couples faces. I must say I am not a fan of the gentleman's shoulder, it kind of looks vey awkward and as though he is pulling away from the intimacy your trying to capture. But as I said I love the concept and I think the balance was pretty spot on for my likes (everyone has different likes but i like it) but next time maybe a little closer.

can i just say from the start that this is a cracking shot. i just love it...

i mostly agree with matt, i think a bit closer would have been preferable. i still like the negative black space so i would crop too much. but i do think you actually have captured the mood perfectly, i dont think it needed to be closer to their faces to get the same sort of emotion. its a beautiful image, well done.

Nice concept and I think you've pulled it off well.

You could improve the light to be believable and to get the vignette around the water to be more gradual.

Although it is nice to keep the negative space, I think you could also try to show the background if suitable, perhaps 2.5 stops under to add even more context.

Did you use a hose to create the rain??

Can we see the un-edited version?

I agree with surenj. Conceptually A+ but the vignette is in my mind the weak link. It does need to be more gradual and, again as per surenj, maybe see some of the background faded back to give the main subject more emphasis.

All-in-all a great concept.

...just a thought. What about just cropping it portrait. That would keep the great raindrops in the top right, keep them in the right of the frame, but reduce the black.
As I said, just a thought-great shot btw

I didn't notice his shoulder! Wow! I think you are right. He doesn't feel relaxed... I see!
