I managed to get out to the Hunter over the weekend. Unfortunately, I wasn't there for the ideal light





Any thoughts about the crop?


HDR...I am not sure if I have overdone it

Damn. I could have used a drink

#1 Classic Australian landscape shot. I would be inclined to crop just above the big cloud though

#2 Just doesn't hold my interest. Not sure why. Perhaps bring up the sky some more

#3 The sky does nothing for me here. Iether crop it out or bring some drama to it by playng with the levels or crop it out completely. Also clone out the moon monsters and that stick(?) in the foreground. Also the colours don't quite gel for me, but that could be me, and I am losing the LHS horse against the water. Perhaps drop in a dark reflection behind it as the other horse has.

#4 Love the sky. Maybe knock the blue back just a tad. And again the grass looks just a little wrong. Again could be me. Also The mower marks in the grass bother me a little.

I actually feel 1 is great as is. As Greg said, quintessential Australian landscape.

The crop in 3 is fine, the stick is a little distracting but am happy with the clouds the way they are. I would be happy with a print of this.

I am not taken with the perspective on 2 and 3 doesn't do a lot for me.
