I like this picture because it documents something that
used to happen when I was young - no Play Station, Facebbok
or the like - just a ball and a few friends...

Hi Zafra
Kids having simple fun...
I'm wondering how this would look in mono?
and if I was being really picky - cropping off the lone dangling arm on the right and getting the rest of the hand back on the left.

Thanks for the comments. I didn't realised there were
an orphan arm dangling on the corner and yes the b&w
gives it an effect of a bygone era.

It has a very nice feel to it and does look as though it comes from the past.
I wonder whether it could be improved by making the children a touch brighter - you wouldn't want to take it too far but maybe theyre a bit too much in shadow. You also wouldn't want anything else to be any brighter, so I would think a channel mask in Photoshop.... Applies to the mono version as well as the colour though more to the colour, I think.

Thanks for that. I just learned something new. I created a layer mask, which
I haven't done before, and adjusted the aperture, then I converted to BW.

I think that's much better for both versions and I like the slightly faded feel of the colour version. It could be in the 50s except that the motorbike is a bit too recent.
