Finally a few images

Hi, Still up on the Gold Coast - I know its not the most popular destination, but the kids and the hubby are loving it. Although my hubby had a fall at home the night we were to leave so he has crutches and all now, making the holiday a lot more interesting. So needless to say I am doing a lot more chasing the kids then I had hoped and well as a result the opportunities to take a few images have been very few. However I had a chance to take a few sunrise images yesterday and this evening had an opportunity to take a few shots after the sun had set. So I would love some CC just incase I get a chance to take any more of these images before leaving.

Both these images have been only loaded onto my husbands macbook air in iPhoto (i hate iPhoto) so only a quick crop done to both images. The sunrise images has a bit of a flare, but I still liked it and wanted to share, as I think the colours look great - but then again i've never attempted these types of photographs. So first time lucky and happy with my effort you could say.

Thanks for looking! :-)

:agree: makes the GC look quite nice. I think it always looks better at night, as do most cities. I am guessing it was taken from the balcony of your hotel?

The sunrise is not doing much for me, too simplistic?

Both of these shots are excellent. In the first I am impressed by the sharpness of the ocean ripples.

Great crisp-ness in these images, however they both are missing focal points of interest. Great to hear that you and your family are having a good time, and I hope your husband is on the mend.

- I had hoped that the Soul building was the POI in the sunset image and I liked the suns reflection in the ocean leading to the sun as its POI. Once home i'd be interested in seeing what PP I can do to enhance these images.

Pretty happy with my attempts, only hope I get more opportunities to get out whilst up here still.

I feel the first one could be further improved by croping it
to make the sun be in one of the thirds, perhaps a square
crop may do the trick and add even more visual interests.
Nevertheless, both images are very good, shapr and coulorful.

The cityscape is very nice, the long exposure works nicely to add a bit of drama to the water. I would add a touch of contrast to it to cut thru some of the apparent haze or window.

The seascape would work for me if the flare was cloned out and it was cut down to a thin pano. The colour is neat and a bit different, it also reminds me of the Presets new song filmclip 'Ghosts'
