Wow thats quite in your face. You might want to go for a more neutral background so you don't have distractions back there (like the lounge). One day you might use a tele focal length and wide aperture to defocus it but for today you could simply compose the image with something simpler like a blank wall, open sky, etc there. I'm assuming given the noise in the image this was taken indoors in darker ambient light at high ISO - perhaps try near a window with indirect daylight coming in

Yeah it was taken in quite a dark room, had a pretty quick shutter speed and high ISO! I am just starting out with my camera

cute smile and big eyes, you have captured the personality of the animal well, as mentioned, the high iso noise is a bit distracting, but i can get over that since i can see feeling in the image.

I think thie photograph would look better
in black and white and the grainy effect
would go well with it. Have a go!

Yeah she is such a solemn soul! An emotional dog to say the least. I will try it in black and white and see what it's like ill post it tomorrow

Works for me...big, in your face...you can almost feel his breath. I like!
