A last minute decision to grab my D80IR turned out to be great move...

The AF-S 16-85VR proves to be a good IR lens

The Tokina 12-24 not so good for IR

The 16-85VR is less happy in the visible spectrum

and a HDR just for good measure

I really like #1, but the lens falre ion #2 distracts me. The IR is better than the "real" as well for these.

+1 for number 1

although a bit bright - possibly tone teh brightness down a bit and also add a fraction of vignetting?

Also +1 for #1 - although I reckon part of why #2 is worse than #1 and seems more washed out is you almost included the sun in the frame in #2 and thus the huge flare and loss of contrast.

Thanks guys.

I did some adjustment in CNX2 using colour control points to get that blue, but I have found that my current custom preset is good so I have sticking with it.

Unfortunately the Tokina 12-24mm f/4 just flairs..I have quite a few images from the day with that lens and anytime the sun is in the same general direction as you are shooting then you get that flair. It also seems to hot spot at times as well.

I agree, the two IR versions smash the 'real' versions easily. The first is the pick.

For something rather special...try some head and shoulder portraits with IR. Use different models, (try someone with freckles) and get them to wear some silk. This is where IR excels in my opinion.
