Backyard BeesTook the macro lens into the backyard today to capture some bees at work before the lawn mower attacks...
Backyard BeesGreat work Adam. The second would be my pick of the bunch, nice angle and composition.

Backyard BeesYeah #2 is a ripper ! Harder than it looks to get these little buggers in perfect focus and get good backgrounds so you did tremendously well.

Backyard BeesMy favourite is #4 bit of an action shot as he is taking off. You can see the pollen on his face
Re: Backyard BeesThe first is my favourite and then #2. Great detail in both of them.
Re: Backyard BeesAdam
A great group of images, but it's #2 for me as well. I think it's a more novel take on the shot and is stronger as a result - we tend to look at these guys from above. Peter

Re: Backyard BeesThanks.
I kept the POV in the forefront of my mind as I'm always hearing/reading people say to change the POV to something other than what we normally see. It was easier said than done though... I used live view and manual focus to try and get the camera as low as I could.
Re: Backyard BeesVery nice work on getting so close!
