Backyard Bees

Took the macro lens into the backyard today to capture some bees at work before the lawn mower attacks...

Yeah #2 is a ripper ! Harder than it looks to get these little buggers in perfect focus and get good backgrounds so you did tremendously well.

My favourite is #4 bit of an action shot as he is taking off. You can see the pollen on his face

A great group of images, but it's #2 for me as well. I think it's a more novel take on the shot and is stronger as a result - we tend to look at these guys from above.

Thanks.

I kept the POV in the forefront of my mind as I'm always hearing/reading people say to change the POV to something other than what we normally see. It was easier said than done though... I used live view and manual focus to try and get the camera as low as I could.
