Red and Lavender...

Was at home on a nice spring day the other day and on a whim decided to head out into the backyard with the macro (Nikon 105 VR) and look for some flowers to shoot handheld.
The lavender was an obvious find although it was hard to find a composition I liked, the sun was low with late afternoon sun so I tried some from in front and behind without much success...
What I did find however were these gorgeous enormous red flowers (lilies?) on long (not very stable) stems - crazy that I hadn't seen them in the back yard before - we had four of them and this was the best of them. Lest you think me mad I purposely shot this one in essentially full late afternoon sun because I liked the way it dropped to shadow (the background, on the petals and even the stamens) - hope you like it too?
