Last weekend some friends and I paid a visit to the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens/ While mostly Australian natives there is also a range of other species plus a large cactus garden - many of which are currently flowering. So with all the spring flowers around I took the opportunity to practice my macro skills. Below are some for critique. These are all hand held - I was too lazy to take a tripod and taken with the Mikkor 105 VR. Lot's more HERE if you're interested

Stunning colours - an excellent collection. Good work without tripod!

I particularly like the white flower with the crimson markings, yellow stamens and a bee sniffing out nectar.

Beautiful images Peter, no need for critique. Looks like you may have some dust bunnies though (prominent in the 4th image on the green b/g).

These are just the absolute best I have seen in ages Peter. What lens did you use? Sorry I am blind - the 105mm VR, tasty.
