Even a few more Fuji 18-55mm zoom picsThe Fuji XPRO-1 coupled with Fujis 18-5mm lens is quite a powerhouse of a rig for its size and weight. For one used to carrying a backpack loaded with a Nikon DSLR and 4 or 5 lenses and a flashgun, spare batteries, monopod or small tripod, filters etc etc etc, to be able to walk around with a relatively non descript camera of insignificant weight and signature is somewhat of a liberation. And this without sacrificing image quality shows the state of the technology. And it will only get better. Nikons D70 'kit' lens was the highly respected 18-70mm (from memory F3.4 - F4.50) and I've had a lot of experiance with that lens in a teaching situation. Fujis little gem leaves it for dead.

Even a few more Fuji 18-55mm zoom picsHi Matt
I too have gone down the Fuji path having just bought a X E1 and 18-55. I have had it since Tuesday and have not had much of an opportunity to play. My main reason for dipping my toes in the CSC system is the saving in weight compared to my other 'kit'. I have been contemplating it for a long time but felt the IQ was just not there, but with the Fuji products, i believe the IQ is there. Of course there will be further improvements from a myriad of manufacturers, Fuji included, but how long do you wait? So far, and I have only reviewed images on the camera LCD, the results look very good, in particular with the lack of noise at high ISO. I took a shot last night in a dimly lit room at ISO25600, f4, 1/38s @ 37mm, hand held and the results are nothing short of incredible. As for the 18-55 lens, doesn't it just ooze quality in its build and operation, I think I am going to enjoy this new adventure/direction - I don't see myself off loading the DSLR and associated equipment just yet but I guess it may well be used much less! Even a few more Fuji 18-55mm zoom picsForgot to comment on the pics - the B&W images for me, in particular the last for the lines and form despite its busyness.

Re: Even a few more Fuji 18-55mm zoom picsI think the current generation of Fuji's are nice but have significant flaws... the 18-55 lens too has a couple of things that should have been sorted out better before release.
This is NOT to suggest that either are bad but rather I would think in a year time we will see a CSC system from Fuji that addresses the issues and will be really superb. The additions and improvements in the x20 and x100s give a pretty good indication of the enhancements that will be rolled out into the Pro-2 and x-e2... but I would be surprised if we could actually take a shot with one in 2013. Always happy be surprised like that if it comes to pass. Oh... and yes Matt, a nice selection of images showing what the current generation is capable of. Photography is not a crime, but perhaps my abuse of artistic license is?
Re: Even a few more Fuji 18-55mm zoom picsI simply love the 3rd one followed by 2nd
and 4th. Unfortunately, the 1st doesn't do much for me.
