a few from the past

I am not quite an active photographer again, but I have started revisiting my back catalogue

A tribute to Arthur Stace that I made in response to a challenge here a few years ago. ("Painting with Light")
Image

I have learned a bit since then, and have applied a slight vignette and played with levels and contrast a bit. The original found in the link above was SOOC.
I should also mention that due to a computer crash with backups less than perfect, I lost my original photo. The edits were made by downloading the copy from the potograss website.

This was me playing around with light. I learned a lot about lighting with this shot (and the 20 odd that led up to this one :) )

High key Haiku (aka The Bucket Woman)

This one still needs work. Perhaps a vignette, something needs to be done with the background, and I need to deal with that yellow object bottom right. But apart from the vignette, my PP skills are just not up to it.

Great to see that you are still around Greg!

Amazing light painting. Hard work but worth it. Well done.

Arthur Stace, Mr Eternity, was a contemporary of my Grandfather, both Baptist church workers from a bygone era. I've always thought it ironic that on NYE, 1999, "Sin City" honoured, above all others, a Baptist street preacher!

Great image.

I was never really happy with the magpie in this post, so I decided to have a go at reworking it while procratinating on a more pressing job

Opinions? Better? Worse? Suggestions for improvement?

Good selection. I prefer your second version of
the bird as it removes distracting elements and
directs the attention to the its eye.
