Pre Dawn @ Narrabeen Tidal Pool...

My first visit to Narrabeen Tidal Pool

Appreciate your thoughts - esp with the second...

One of the most interesting things about the Narrabeen tidal pool is this very large timber boardwalk separating the main lap pool from the rest of the pool. I spent some time exploring the various walkways over and around the pool and took a few test compositions whilst waiting for twilight to arrive and the lights to hopefully turn off...

A little light painting of this far boardwalk

about 40 minutes before sunrise the other photographers started arriving and quite a few of them headed out to the outer rockshelf surrounding the pool. I decided instead to try this pre dawn long exposure which included the coming storm and include some of the photographers out on the shelf

I prefer the second. I feel there is far too much
foreground in the first and you can do without
the shadow across the walk and foreground below.
What do you think, will it improve it?

Predawn?

Don't you ever sleep???

I love the processing on the first, but I can't help but wonder how it might have looked had you made this image from a much lower point of view?

Thanks Zafra - I did try to lessen the shadow at capture time by light painting the deck a bit with my head torch - however the pool spotlights were much brighter (and there was a ladder rail causing the shadow) so it is what it is :) Less foreground might work - as might the lower perspective Garry mentioned

Sleep... overrated... yawn :) - I can sleep once I've finished with photography :)

Thanks Gary - ok this was the best I had (the previous shot to the above) which was taken from considerably lower and also obviously horizontally

This is what I meant:

Please tell me if you want me to remove it. I feel the first version has
more impact than your second landscape version.
