I'm a bit of an animal nut so I really enjoyed this, nice clear eyes, good timing to get the expression, nicely framed, looks like it would have been fairly hard light so well done...

Big Pix, yes, I always use USM on my shots. I usually have the camera set for 0 or 1 sharpness, which requires USM for post. IME, USM is always required when images are resized.
