Ducks on Green - The Brickpit...

A very large pond sits in the middle of the Brickpit area and it is home to all manner of wildlife which doesn't seem to mind the thick layer of bright green "something" which lies on the surface of the pond.

Here some local birds are wading across the surface of the pond leaving interesting trails in their wake

I'm not sure what this green stuff is but it has different texture in different areas of the pond and I loved the light and dark swirls, lines and shapes left in the surface

and who can resist this...

and all lined up nicely along the waters edge :)

The green would be algae and quite harmless. On the other hand if it was red I would get the hell out of there.

#3 is the standout for me because the even lines of the weed with the single broken trail leads my eye down to the duck. The diagonal composition and the colours are great.

Thanks Craig and Trevor - yes my favourite too

I've got one with two birds coming in opposite directions (for opposite corners) which looks pretty good too
