It's a Vivid Sydney...Once again the two and a half week festival of light that is Vivid Sydney has hit our wonderful city.
I took my girls into the city last night so they could see some of the opening night's light display first hand - it was a wet and sometimes rainy evening but the crowds were still out in force. We spent most of our time down around The Rocks and circular quay area and my girls marvelled at some of the excellent displays of light and magic - some of which were very hands on which the girls really enjoyed. A perennial favourite is the large scale light painting of the sails of Sydneys world famous Opera House - this time lit from a new location at Dawes Point Vivid Opera What the Blue! Some more large scale building light painting - here with the MCA Sydney Swirl Melting Moments D600, D7000, Nikon/Sigma/Tamron Lenses, Nikon Flashes, Sirui/Manfrotto/Benro Sticks

with their colours and composition.
Re: It's a Vivid Sydney...Touche Matt, nailed is the word. The first image is phenomenal, with the contrast against the stormy night sky. I was at Scott's Head last on the NSW north coast, eating chips on the headland, looking at the huge pounding surf, fully lit by a shining moon. Aaarrrrgh! I didn't have my camera and tripod. I missed the photo opportunity of a lifetime. It really was breathtaking.
Might have to visit the big smoke in the next few weeks and have a squiz at Vivid. President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)

Re: It's a Vivid Sydney...Have to agree, I love #1 and especially number 2, that blue is electric.
