Triptych

After my attempt at a long exposure from the ship I took three shots with the intention of doing a triptych. It seems that my positioning was a little out for each of the shots and it is very obvious with all the with all the horizontal lines. Do you think the rails not lining up kills the image and should I play with some more crops to get it closer or just chuck it away? Also which if any of the treatments looks best?

Hi Craig - not the first - it looks oof/shaky (esp the middle and left frames). The second is better (altho some will complain about it being too hdr'd) - perhaps if you backed off (blended in the original) wood from the closer rails? The third has a soft glowy feel I like but I'm not sure it's working overall for me.
I'd be tempted to bring down the left and right frames a little (to both loose some of that wide wood rail at the bottom and line up the far metal rail at the front of the ship)

I'm going to go the other way from Rodney, and run with the first.

Sure, it's not natural, but it doesn't have to be. And it also doesn't suffer from the processing.

Thanks for your thoughts guys. The softness in the first may be caused by the time of day, had not had a chance to have a beer yet.

The lack of continuity in the lines should be distracting but for me they make the image white interesting. I like the fact they are kind of jarring. Really nice work.

Thanks Rooz, It is nice to hear a couple of varied opinions as it give me ideas for different versions using the same shots.

I think the first is the best, but the fact that
the rails are not lined up upsets my autism.
