I extended my collection of Fuji glass today, convinced the wife that with the falling aussie dollar prices would be going up soon!

The build and quality of the lens is the usual Fuji standard I have come to expect. Here are just a couple of images from it's first very brief outing.

I think colour is the winner in this set. I like
the second best because of colour and
composition.

I've hear some pretty impressive comments about the quality of this lens....but to my mind it kind of defeats the purpose of buying into the Fuji system in the first place....that is....keep the kit small, fast and and portable. If I want to start using those kinds of focal lengths then I probably would prefer to drag out the SLR kit. Just my opinion. Still, I'm curious enough to want to see more examples from you.
Thanks for posting!

I hear you Matt and kinda agree to an extent. I am a shorter focal length user generally but with the intent to sell all my DSLR gear I decided on this lens for those odd occasions when I need something longer. I have an overseas trip planned Dec/Jan and want to cover all bases if I can. Even with this lens packed in the kit bag, it is still far lighter than the DSLR kit I would have other wise taken with me.

A couple from the garden this morning.

Pretty impressive. Are you able to use the OVF or does it require the use of the EFV...that is, does the OVF have the frame lines that move as you zoom?

No OVF on the XE1 Matt. I suspect that you could only use the EVF on the X Pro1 for the reasons you raise.

Ooops! Of course. I should have known that. But then again, the EVF on the Fuji cameras is not too bad so no real problem there anyway.

I like these last two.
