Yet more fun with the Nikon V1

I thought that the Canon 10-22mm lens was the best fun-for-dollar piece of camera equipment you could buy. Wrong. The V1 is a blast. Why was it panned so much on the review sites? It's beyond me. Keyboard wannabees I suppose who would rather type than shoot!

On the clothesline this afternoon, handheld V1 with 30-110 and electronic shutter. The files are RAW, with no PP except for sharpening in Sharpener Pro3. The sharpness and detail coming from this camera and lens is astonishing. Happy camper. By the way, for our non Australian friends, this is a Kookaburra, a member of the Kingfisher family. And for our Aussie friends, he wasn't laughing as I stalked him...:)

Matt, it's amazing just how good (and inexpensive) this little camera is. On another tack, I have decided to join the Fuji ranks, lock, stock and barrel. Canon DSLR and assorted lenses are gone/going this week. I have sold the (brand new) XE-1 for what I bought it for, and have purchased an X-Pro 1 (for the OVF) and a 35mm, to go with the 18-55. So it's now Fuji all the way, except for action stuff which will be taken with the little Nikon.

Happy days.

That last shot is very impressive for its acuity

That system surely shut me up when I first used it.

Exactly.

If only I knew what acuity meant... :biglaugh:

Acuity: Noun. "Sharpness or keenness of thought, vision, or hearing."

From memory kit was around $600 with 10-30 and 30-110. I've seen the V1/10-30 for about 400+ish at a few places of late.
