Na Pali Cathedrals

Hawaii's island of Kauai is famous for many things, not least the rugged Na Pali coast where volcanic action over millennia has produced The Cathedrals - the magnificent cliff faces that look like the buttresses on cathedral walls.

They are usually photographed in colour, but I present this B&W version to highlight the drama of the cliffs shrouded in mist. The photograph was taken from a catamaran.

That is a beautiful rendition and the B&W conversion works very well. I can imagine that this would be a very powerful image if it was printed to a large size. Good job.

Great shot Trevor, you have to view it full size to get any appreciation, the textures and detail are really something, whilst presented as a flat composition, somehow it takes on quite some depth
