Festival of the Winds – Bondi…The Festival of the Winds kite flying festival is an annual event at Sydney’s famous Bondi beach.
Some Google+ friends were having a meetup there during the day – I wasn’t able to make the start but I was able to arrive very late (basically only minutes before the end and after many had already left ). Still I did get there and chatted with a few friends before they headed off home and I managed to get a few images of the amazing array of kites flying above the beach – it must have been spectacular when they were all out in full force. Here are a couple with the Sigma 15mm fisheye… D600, D7000, Nikon/Sigma/Tamron Lenses, Nikon Flashes, Sirui/Manfrotto/Benro Sticks

Re: Festival of the Winds – Bondi…Absolutely the right choice in lens. The whole scene encompasses on itself and gives the viewer a very immersive experience. BTW, did I say I really like these shots

Re: Festival of the Winds – Bondi…I like the first one best, it's so unusual.
Re: Festival of the Winds – Bondi…#1 is great, I love how the kites seem to follow the distortion

Re: Festival of the Winds – Bondi…2 outstanding images. I love the last image though it looks a tad over processed for my taste. A landscape format similar to the last would make a god "Sydney Life' competition entry.

Re: Festival of the Winds – Bondi…Thankyou everyone
Matt - yes agree re the processing - unfortunately it was shot straight into the sun so I HDR'd it and didn't have much time to process well I actually do have a landscape composition of the second image and another from further away - I might look into them D600, D7000, Nikon/Sigma/Tamron Lenses, Nikon Flashes, Sirui/Manfrotto/Benro Sticks
