look like flag designs. I like these abstract works. They should be printed very large and framed in exquisite gold frames after which they could hang with the best in the finest galleries.

I think it detracts from the elegant simplicity of the image personally. the shadow certainly doesn't work for this one either.

because there were very nice abstracts. I think
the last one is the best of the last two.

Geoff,
Your use of light (and shade) here is exemplary. This is borne out in the textures that we can see in these images.

You have a theme....push it to the max! They are wonderful images! This is fine art photography.

The idea with teh second lot of images has merit imo. However you have not balanced the elements, the ball takes over rather than compliments.
Think about placing the ball differently and also teh relative size of teh ball within the frame - this will lead you on the road to (in my opinion) to images better than the first lot.
