Very well done indeed.
I think the mono version would be enhanced by the inclusion of the two small figures heading off to a life on the island.

I agree with what Murray has said, mono of the composite image but also push some extra brightness in the area of the couple to ensure they act as a anchor point (or dial the vignetting back a bit)

The colour wins because the b&w is a bit on the dark side and lacks
the human element.
