What a beautiful moon last night. This was snapped from my bedroom balcony with the help of my Nikon J1 + FT1 combination and that Tamron SP 500mm f/8 Adaptall2 lens that I am growing to love ever more. Stability was provided by a Sirui T2205x + K10x combination. These images have not been cropped.

Very nice Cameron. I too would like to try shooting a humungous lens with my V1. Not sure how to go about it though. Two of my brothers live on farms west of the divide, with endless opportunities for astronomic photography.

Truth said the humble 500/8 mirror is not a very large lens. You should get out there and have a play, it sounds like you have some good potential locations

Good photographs.
I always had a romantic view of the moon, but seeing it this big it and with so many details I cannot help comparing it to an old heart full of bruises, scars, and cold because of disappointments and unrequited love.

Wallace reckons it's made of cheese. Wensleydale to be precise.

Thanks Gerry....that mirror is sharp enough, as long as you nail the focus
